Overview
Registered Medication Aides (RMAs) or Medication Technicians play a key role in maintaining the health of residents. RMAs must responsibly and accurately administer medication, provide direct care, and monitor resident health. These caregivers get to know residents on a personal level and will alert management when a resident’s needs change. The right individual for this position is diligent, caring, and respectful.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and accurately record the administration of medications as prescribed
- Record and report adverse reactions, medication side effects, or changes in residents’ condition to supervising nurse
- Provide direct care to residents and other duties of a Certified Nursing Assistant as designated
- Participate in resident life enrichment programs
- Interact effectively with residents and family members to address concerns
- Participate in staff training
- Other tasks as requested by supervisor
Qualifications
- Valid Registered Medication Aide license
- CPR and First Aid certification or ability to acquire within 60 days
- Experience in senior care is preferred
*Sign-on bonuses are offered in incremental payments over a 24-month period for full-time positions only.
