Overview
The community Van Driver plays an important role in assisting residents with local transportation. Whether it’s a trip to go shopping, transportation to doctor appointments, or driving a group of residents during an activity outing, the Van Driver supports our residents’ independence and ability to experience the greater community. The right person for the job will be patient, value others’ safety and time, and enjoy working with older adults. We are looking for a driver Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays. Monday and Friday 8:30-12:00 and Wednesdays 8:30-4:30. Also as needed. An occasional weekend or evening approximately 4 hours. He or she must possess or obtain a valid, unrestricted driver’s license. Experience driving a 14-passenger van is preferred. CDL’s are preferred but not required.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the community vehicle as assigned by supervisor
Inspect the community vehicle prior to operation
Help load and unload passengers in a safe and courteous manner
Maintain daily vehicle record
Arrange for the vehicle’s state inspection and annual registration renewal
- Report any vehicle malfunctions or concerns to supervisor immediately and make arrangements for repairs, as needed
Ensure vehicle’s cleanliness inside and out
- Other tasks as requested by supervisor
Qualifications
Must be able to obtain a Driver License with clean driving record (Must be 25 years of age for insurance purposes).
Must be able to pass a Pre-Employment drug test and Background Check.
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds
